About Me

Growing up a block away from a video rental store, Renso Landa became obsessed with movies at a young age. He knew he wanted to be involved in the movie making process but his passion was not ignited until years later when he attended San Rafael’s “Movies at the Park” for a screening of Star Wars. Ben Burtt, the sound designer of the films, happened to be the guest speaker at the event and Renso was immediately enamored with the process of sound design. This was the exact job he had been looking for, but until then, never knew of its existence. Renso changed majors from Political Science and entered the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts program at San Francisco State University, with an emphasis in sound for film. Renso’s job as a sound designer is to tell the story with sound by combining all the audio elements; dialog, music, and sound effects and shape them into an emotional journey for the viewer.
